Neighbours legends Harold and Madge Bishop were reunited on ITV’s Loose Women this week with help from the freuds team. The Media & Entertainment team at freuds organised a live link to Australia and arranged for actors Ian Smith and Anne Charleston to appear on the lunchtime chat show.
Sitting on set in Harold’s Café, the fictional couple reminisced about their time on the soap together creating a huge buzz on the internet and social media. Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalah told them: “It’s so good to see you together”. However, the couple ruled out a future return to the show, with Anne pointing out: “Well I can’t because they’ve buried me.” Madge died in Harold’s arms on the show in 2001 from pancreatic cancer. The freuds team also arranged for Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne, aka Karl and Susan Kennedy, to sit down for a chat as part of Loose Women’s ‘soap takeover’ week.
